Meet The Canine Behavior Counselor:

I reside in Mechanicsburg, PA with my husband, five dogs and one cat.  Of course we all know who is in charge in our house, the cat!

I have always had a passion for dogs.  Since I was a little girl I had at least one dog in my life that I referred to as my best friend.  Now I am an adult and living with a pack of dogs.  It is by no accident that I share my home with five dogs. If you want to learn about the dog, hang with the pack.  Three of my dogs were adopted from two different rescue organizations.  I also foster dogs in my home for a local rescue.

If you want to have a wonderful experience and change a dog’s life forever consider fostering or adopting a dog.  There are so many wonderful dogs in rescue programs looking for a forever home.  My motto is “don’t shop but adopt”.  My heart is with the rescued dog.

If you want me to read a piece of correspondence or publication be sure to write the word DOG across the page.  My theory in learning is to never stop learning.  Keep your educational material diversified.  Never narrow your focus to only one dog trainer’s theories and methods.  I expose myself to many “gurus” teachings in the dog training world.  The point is to never stop searching and learning as much as you can.  This I believe is what makes me a great Canine Behavior Counselor.  My passion for the canine; combined with my quest for knowledge, makes me a leader of the pack.

Millions of dogs are killed in shelters yearly.  Research indicates; a large percent of the dogs turned into shelters are a result of an unresolved behavior problem. My passion is to rehabilitate dogs and educate their owners on canine behavior.  If sharing my knowledge can stop one dog from being turned into a shelter I have succeeded in life.

Honestly, there is no such thing as a dog with a behavior problem.  The dog would not exhibit a behavior if it did not serve a purpose for him. Many a dog owner becomes frustrated with his dog.  Frustration comes from living with a different species that exhibits behaviors not understood in our human world.  If you love your dog, take the time to understand how he perceives the world at large.  Seek first to understand, not to be understood.

Very Respectfully,

Terri Bullers
